Security Bars for Apartment Windows Vs Roller Shutters
Monday, October 10th, 2011
Roller shutters are a great means of keeping the home safe and secure. They operate quietly and are computerized. However, the problem with them is that they are not permanent, and any crook knows this. At the same time, they tend to cost a pretty penny, and they need to be maintained yearly. They also need to be opened and closed every single day, so the mechanism continues to work properly. This does not make them a very practical option for pennywise individuals. A better option would be security bars for apartment windows. Security bars for windows are permanent and cannot be taken out at any time. This means that is practically impossible for any adult criminal to get through these bars, since the bar spacing is not wide enough to accommodate the average head size of a human adult. These bars for security are also more financially convenient, and are virtually zero maintenance.

Home Security Measures That Allows You to Prepare During Fire
Monday, September 19th, 2011
Although you will never want any incidents involving fire to occur in your home, being prepared will help make you win the battle. When the need arises, you should be able to provide safety measures and be able to address this kind of emergency with a clear mind. When it comes to fire safety, here are some home security measures that you can adapt inside your home:
-
Smoke sensors and alarms- install security devices such as smoke sensors and alarms within areas of your home which may be prone to the onset of fire such as the kitchen and the dining room. It would also help if you have these sensors installed in almost all areas of the house which are separated by rooms. This way, any areas of the house which might catch fire can be instantly detected by the sensors.
-
Monitored security devices- aside from having the proper security systems specifically for fire, it would also help if you have connections to monitoring stations. By doing so, the system will instantly notify the proper authorities such as the fire station department in case of a fire emergency.
-
Fire extinguishers- store fire extinguishers in areas where it is accessible to adults but not to children. Make sure that the storage place can be easily opened in case of emergency. Most fire extinguishers have a warranty and expiration date of 5-10 years, so it would be advisable to check the quality as well as the longevity of the fire extinguisher that you will be purchasing.
-
Emergency exits- laying out the possible exits that your family can use to vacate your household is an important aspect of fire safety. When fire emergencies occur, most people would tend to get confuse and think hazily because they are uninformed on what to do next.
It’s never too late to follow these home security measures that can help protect you and your family from the devastating effects of a fire calamity.

Choosing the Right Fire Shutter
Thursday, September 15th, 2011
Have been researching the market for fire shutters. Discovered that there is quite a wide range of products to choose from. Firstly whether I need a fire door, a fire roller shutter or a curtain. I had not come across fire curtains before but they are made from a stainless steel wire that has been re-inforced with a fabric made from glass. This is very flexible and can be rolled up into the ceiling so that no one can see it when it is not in use. However, having it integrated into the fire system allows it to be automatically deployed and it can provide up to 120 minutes of protection. However, we need a four hour certified fire barrier to separate our office block from the factory so we’re going to opt for the traditional roller fire shutter – it’s not invisible but the manufacturer tells me that we can have it in any color as long as we specify the RAL number.
